October is well known for pumpkin spice and everything nice, so we thought it would be fitting to share a pumpkin spice recipe for this month while also touching base on the importance of satiating and satisfying snacks!

Although discouraged by diet culture to reduce calorie intake, there is nothing wrong with snacking throughout the day, in fact it is actually encouraged! There are so many benefits to having a snack(s) during the day. Such benefits include:

So what re the components of a nourishing snack?
So let’s see how we incorporated the components of a nourishing snack in these delicious pumpkin spice energy bites!
Fiber: These nutrient-packed bites contain oats, pecans, ground flax, pumpkin, and chia seeds which are FULL of fiber to help keep you full!
Protein: Pecans, peanut butter, chia seeds, and ground flax all offer a great source of protein
Healthy Fats: ground flax, chia seeds, peanut butter, and pecans are all examples of unsaturated fats which should be included in the diet.
Carbs: Oats are a great choice of carbs providing you will energy throughout the day
Color: These energy bites have a vibrant orange color from the pumpkin, topped with a white chocolate glaze making them appealing to the eye.
Fun: A snack should always be enjoyable, think about elements you can add to a snack to make it fun and delicious. In this snack, the white chocolate drizzle adds an element of fun and indulgence.
